Veemax
Max Johanson was an active race driver, from his youth.
Driving, constructing a racer and building them took this young engineer away. Max had an internal flame and real passion for winning. That's what created Veemax race car. A significant number was made for Formula Vee and Super Vee classes during 1965-80. That time, Veemax was the second largest car manufacturer in Finland, after our local Saab factory! The guiding line of Veemax design was the philosophy of Max Johanson, he was not following the main stream. Veemax is the product of both, science and art. In this book, you can read about this design philosophy, Max' thoughts about racing and the history of Veemax, and you'll get an insight into a significant part of Finnish racing history. One of the highlights of the Veemax racing career is the European Super Vee Championship of both Manufacturers and Drivers in 1976. Some of the more well known Veemax drivers are Keke Rosberg and Henri Toivonen |
